Careers
Careers Leaders: Mrs Slack
At Priestnall School we aim to provide good quality, impartial advice and guidance, ensuring all our students have the best possible foundation to base their future choices and pathways.
We hold the Inspiring IAG Gold Award.
Here you can find information about how we implement Careers Education from Year 7-11 as well as the support available from school, important information and other resources.
Where to access Careers and Post-16 information in school
Mrs Slack our Careers and Post 16 Advisor is available in the school careers office on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to provide advice, guidance and support with applications.
There is a comprehensive careers section within the school library offering information on further education, higher education, apprenticeships and employment. This is where students will find college prospectuses and application forms.
Careers information is also displayed on the CEIAG display boards on the main corridor by the library, Café Mersey and next to the Careers Office.
Independent Careers Advice and Guidance
Our independent careers advice and guidance is provided by Stockport Family. They come into school twice a week to carry out 1-1 guidance interviews with students in Year 11. Parents are always welcome to attend these interviews. Students then receive and individual action plan.
Useful Websites
We support students in registering with the START website www.startprofile.com . This provides all students with independent, impartial careers advice accessible from home and school.
