E-Safety Evening

We will again be holding an E-Safety Evening for parents and carers on Tuesday 5th February between 6pm and 7 pm in the Main Hall. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of how to keep your child safe on-line. We are again lucky enough to be joined by our guest speaker Tanya Cross, Stockport’s Health and Wellbeing Advisor. Tanya is an expert in the field of e-safety and will be able advise you about emerging trends in the on-line world.

We expect this event to be well attended and places are limited so please reserve via the main office.

Year 10 Parents’ Evening

Dear Parent/Carer,

May I remind you that Year 10 Parents’ Evening will be held on:

Thursday 24th January 2019

The evening will take place in Café Mersey from 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Please use the entrance near to the Sports Hall where you will find College Leaders ready to assist you.

This evening is set aside for you to discuss your child’s progress with subject teachers and appointments are 5 minute slots. Should you require a longer appointment please telephone the main office to arrange a separate meeting.

It is the responsibility of your son or daughter to obtain appointments on your behalf and your child’s tutor will explain how this should be done.

As in previous years, we will be providing tea, coffee and juice to purchase at a cost of 50 pence a cup. Any profit made will be used towards a reward event for College Leaders as a thank you for their support at all events.

Parking is available in the Recreation Centre and also in the staff car park – please follow the signs near the school’s main reception. We respectfully ask those arriving by car to be mindful of our local residents and ensure that the driveways on our nearby roads are kept clear.

We look forward to seeing you.

Yours faithfully,

Miss J Evans
Assistant Headteacher

Non-uniform Day Friday 16th November 2018

Dear Parent / Carer,

Non-uniform Day in Aid of Children in Need Friday 16th November 2018

As you will be aware, Friday 16th November is this year’s ‘Children in Need’ day and we are planning a non-uniform day to raise funds for this excellent cause.

All students are permitted to wear their own clothes on that day. Students are asked to pay £1.00 each in return for wearing their own clothes, and all money raised will be donated to Children in Need. The items of clothing should not include any rude or offensive slogans.

I would like to emphasise that the change to uniform standards on Friday applies to clothing only, and that piercings, jewellery, make-up and hair colouring and other banned items will not be permitted. Also hats and scarves should not be worn in school. If you child has PE on Friday, they will still need to wear their full PE kit for that lesson.

If you have any queries regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Mr J Cregg
Headteacher

Y11 Certificate Evening

Y11 Certificate Evening is at Stockport Town Hall on Thursday 15th November 2018.  The event starts at 7.30pm but students need to be there for 7pm.

Year 8 Curriculum Information Evening

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to invite you to our Year 8 Curriculum Information Evening which is taking place on Thursday 11th October starting at 6:00 pm in the Main Hall. The aim of the evening is to give parents and carers an overview of this crucial year and to provide you with advice on supporting your child to maximise their potential. We anticipate that the evening will end at around 7:00 pm.

We would strongly encourage you to attend this event, as our joint working is vital in ensuring the success of all of our young people. You may have had older children through the school; however, the curriculum and assessment have undergone very significant changes in recent years.

As space is limited, we would ask please that numbers are limited to no more than two family members attending.

Mr J Cregg

Headteacher
