I just wanted to say how amazing Priestnall is not only academically but and in some ways more importantly pastorally. My child is so lucky to go to a school where she really does matter and where the school goes above and beyond the call of duty to meet all the needs of a child.

Student1

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the staff at the school for all you have done to keep our children safe and to keep our children's education going. You have been working under enormous pressures and have delivered amazing things with few resources and little time. It is greatly appreciated.

Student2

Living through a pandemic is difficult but it is nice when you find an advantage to the situation. I am so impressed with the quality of teaching in all of my child’s lessons.

Everyone I met with today is clear about the school’s development priorities and fully motivated to improve them. Your inclusive vision for the school is increasingly widely shared. The new appointment and changes to role have brought a new energy to the school.

Disneyland Paris Trip

Posted on 9 February 20229 February 2022 by Webmaster

Dear Parent/Carers,

We are writing to inform you about the DLAW Tour to Disneyland Paris, the trip is offered to all Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 pupils (Covid restrictions permitting). The current Covid regulations for France are that everybody 12 years or older must be double vaccinated and provide proof of a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure.  We will be leaving on Monday 11th July 2022, returning Thursday 14th July 2022.

The cost of the visit will be approx. £560 (depending upon numbers). An initial £75 non-refundable deposit is due immediately, with the balance due by 31st March 2022. This price includes:

  • Two nights bed, breakfast accommodation and 3 evening meals, third night is travelling home
  • Travel by coach and Eurotunnel
  • Two days admission to Disneyland Park & Walt Disney Studios Park
  • Insurance: details can be found at: Schools journey insurance details

We anticipate that there will be a high demand for the 63 places that are available to the pupils; therefore, we have decided to complete a draw if more than 63 pupils apply for a place on this visit, if we are unable to increase numbers on the trip. Students will also need to currently meet, and continue to meet, the high standards of behaviour that Priestnall expects. The school charges and remission policy can be found at School charges and remissions policy. This tour will only go ahead if sufficient contributions are made. Our only method of payment is via WisePay.

Those students who wish to apply for a place on the trip should complete the consent, and pay the £75 non-refundable deposit by Friday 4th February 2022 on Wisepay. If you would like to request a place for your child, however need longer to pay the deposit, please email helen.drury@priestnall.stockport.sch.uk – however you will need to be able to pay the full amount by 31st March 2022.

Any students who do not make it within the first 63 places, may be offered a place on the reserve list.  If a group of friends (4 maximum, as rooms in the hotel accommodate 3 or 4) wish to apply, they must arrive and submit their applications together.  We cannot guarantee that all members of a group will be able to go as each individual student will be given consideration in respect of their suitability for the trip.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact helen.drury@priestnall.stockport.sch.uk

Yours faithfully,

Mrs H Drury & Mrs H Fern

Social Media Guides

Posted on 9 February 20229 February 2022 by Webmaster

Dear Parents/Carers

The multi media nature of the social network is something that is ever changing, and sometimes difficult to navigate as a parent or carer.  This handy guide attached is something that we are uploading to the school website, but I feel it would be good to share directly to you.

  • Do you know what a Yolo Add on is in Snapchat?
  • Do you know how to stop Facebook telling all your friends “exactly” where you are?
  • Did you know that if you sign in to YouTube via Google you can send direct messages to other people logged in?

All of the above and more are on this great PDF.

Thank you

Rob Jones
