Priestnall School is a popular, over-subscribed 11-16 school situated in the pleasant residential area of Heaton Mersey, Stockport. Our community benefits from wonderful students and a hardworking and committed staff.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Teacher of History, to join our successful school. History is a thriving department at Priestnall. The appointed candidate will be joining a friendly, effective team who consistently ensure students achieve excellent grades at GCSE.
History is a popular and exciting subject at Priestnall. We have recently been awarded the Historical Association’s History Mark and are keen to excel beyond this. The appointed candidate will be joining a hard-working and professional team, who work tirelessly to ensure outstanding outcomes for all History students.
Our comprehensive Schemes of Learning are well planned, resourced and considered; ensuring that there is aspiration and interest for all of our learners. Our KS3 offer closely follows the National Curriculum including some local history that includes key events such as Peterloo.
At KS4 we follow the Edexcel specification studying topics such as Medicine (Paper 1), Superpowers and the reign of Elizabeth (Paper 2), and USA: Home and Abroad-1954-1975 (Paper 3). Experience of the teaching this specification is desirable although not compulsory. The appointed candidate would be expected to teach both KS3 and KS4 History to a high standard.
We are looking for a team-player who wants to engross themselves within the History team, potentially offering extracurricular clubs and activities. You should also be a dedicated and engaging Practitioner with a commitment to high standards and ongoing professional development.
