Teacher of Religious Education

Required January 2022:

  • Teacher of Religious Education (full-time, permanent)

Priestnall School is a popular, over-subscribed 11-16 school situated in the pleasant residential area of Heaton Mersey, Stockport. Our community benefits from wonderful students and a hardworking and committed staff.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Teacher of Religious Education (full-time, permanent) to join our successful School. This is a newly created post and one that is key to the school’s future success as we rapidly improve the school and become outstanding again. You will be teaching Personal Development lessons in Key Stage 3 and 4 and working with the team providing resources for LC (form) time. Our current Beliefs and Values team will shortly be reorganised as the Personal Development Department. You will join a team of specialists who cover Religious education, Citizenship, PSHE, Relationships, Sex and Health Education and the curriculum elements of Personal Development. You will have to opportunity to join this highly motivated team and help shape the direction of student’s personal development, helping the school to fulfil its pledge of ‘educating for life’. We also embrace opportunities to develop extra-curricular activities and groups to support our students beyond the curriculum.

We will be working together to broaden the provision the department offers, develop outstanding teaching and form resources and make a significant impact on the wider school community. This is a subject area that has a respected and valued place within the school and its curriculum. This is an exciting time of development, helping to create exciting and innovative learning and helping to resource, inspire, support, and encourage our students spiritual, moral, social, and cultural growth.

We are seeking a well-qualified colleague who has:
